Gunnersbury Athletic FC took part in the 3rd Leeds Chinese One-Day Tournament, and the energy was electric from the very start.
With 16 teams in the tournament, following the rule of UEFA champions league, each team played 6 games (15-mins per match) for the first stage as the league and then enter the knock out stage according to the ranking.
The games were intense and fast-paced, but our teamwork, determination, and spirit carried us through. We entered the knock out stage with ranking the 7th during the first stage, by possessing 12 points after winning 3 games and draw another 3 (scored 4 goals and conceded only 1). Games played as below, Next Level to us (0:0), Birmingham CSSA to us (0:0), Nottingham Huaren to us (0:1), Edinburgh to us (0:0), Curve FC to us (1:3) and LSE CSSA to us (0:1). Hence the knock out stage Leeds Huaren to us (0:1), Loughborough to us (0:0, won on penalty 0:1), then the final is again the Next Level to us (0:0, won on penalty 4:5) .
